October

This week we are wrapping up our first theme. This Thursday (Oct. 11) is also the end of the first six weeks. We will be having our A.R. party on Friday, October 12, for all second graders who made their goal. Their AR goals will then be reset and we will begin a new 6 week period.

Our next reading theme is Nature Walk. We will be reading stories about camping, park rangers, etc. It is a lot of fun and a good mix of fiction and nonfiction reading. We are finishing up our first unit in math this month as well. The math test will be on October 26.

It's beginning to get cold. Please make sure you send your child with a jacket. Even if they don't wear it all day, it's nice to have for that first recess :)
