I'm so glad you have found our classroom blog. It will keep you updated on important events and dates, as well as what is going on in our classroom. We will be working hard right away, so I want to fill you in on some of what will be going on. On Fridays, we will be sending home Friday Folders. One side will be filled with homework, and the other side will have papers for you to keep. Your childs spelling list will also be in the folder. Please send the folder and homework back the following Monday, but make sure to keep the spelling list so your child can study. We will have a spelling pretest every Wednesday, and if your child gets 100% they will not have to take the test on Friday. There will be other reading homework during the week. Here is an overview:
Monday and Thursday:
Your child will bring home a paper book in a ziploc bag. Please have your child read this book to you 3 times and fill it out in their reading log that is in the bag. Keep the book, but send the bag and reading log back the following day.
Tuesday and Wednesday:
Red folders will come home with a areading passage. Please follow the directions on the folder and send it back the following day. Your child will bring home the same passage both days.
